About this factory
Our knitwear brings us to the second largest city of China, Guangzhou. About a two-hour drive from its capital, routing us through an incredible landscape of lush forests and bright green rice paddies, lies one of the factories of South Ocean. Specialised in pretty much any piece of knitwear you can imagine this is the place where our biggest collection category comes from.
How it started
Although South Ocean is a large manufacturer with several factories, their factory in Zhongshan is a small one yet run with stunning accuracy. Started in March 2000, the factory does over 1.2 million garments each year. The factory is much respected in this region and has a big impact because they employ over 300 people, supplying all of them with a steady income.
In our journey of finding the right factories, it’s always important to find the partners that will invest in people as much as in new developments, with South Ocean we truly feel this is a mutual thought. Walking through their factory shows us passionate people with extraordinary skill sets, they are dedicated to making the high-quality garments we love.
What they do
South Ocean is specialised in all sorts of knitwear but knitwear only. They are able to make any sweater, jumper, cardigan or vest in the widest range of quality. Their knitting skills are what we like to call “unparalleled”, from the finest Pima cotton in a 16 gauge quality for a beautiful Summer polo-shirt to thick heavy waffle knits in scarfs and beanies. Wearing an incredible soft jumper from us, chances are very big it comes from this beautiful place in Eastern China.
