The story
Oxford is a basket weave: pairs of warp yarns crossing the same number of weft, which gives it the dotted surface you can see up close and the slight give you feel when you put it on. Ours is woven on 100% cotton in plain and stripe, plus one heavier quality with the same structure at more weight. It is the shirt cloth that works unironed, because the texture absorbs a crease that would sit there in plain sight on a poplin.
