The story
All cotton, woven in Portugal, sanded on the face and finished to repel water. Cotton is not the obvious choice for this: the sanding leaves a dry, matte surface that still reads and feels like cotton, and the finish means a shower beads and runs off it instead of soaking through. The jacket is cut from the cloth, with a lightweight padding and a single zip, and it is made up in Macedonia. Water repellent is the whole claim — no rating is stated on it and nothing on the garment says waterproof — so this is the jacket for the ride to work rather than for a day out in the open. It washes at 30°C inside out and stays out of the dryer.
