Merino Modal
The story

Three fibres, each doing one job. Merino makes up half the yarn and handles the warmth. Modal is the twenty percent you notice first, a cellulose fibre with a silky face that takes the dryness out of wool against the skin. The nylon holds the rest together, so the cuff still closes after repeated wear. Spun as a 2/28 Nm and knitted at 12 gauge on a single end, fine enough for a mock neck to sit flat under a jacket. It washes at 20°C, in a bag, dried flat.

Why choose it

For the mid-layer you want smooth against the skin, with no shirt underneath it.

01

Modal makes the surface

Twenty percent modal gives the knit a silky face that plain merino does not have on its own.

02

Merino does the warmth

Half the yarn is merino, so the piece regulates temperature rather than just holding heat.

03

Washes at home

20°C on a wool cycle, in a wash bag, dried flat.

What you pay for

Oliver Mock Neck Jumper: €134 here. €199 average market price.

Average market price is what a comparable piece costs from a brand that sells through other people's shops: department stores and multi-brand retailers. That price has to carry the brand's margin and the shop's margin, stacked. Ours carries one.

Margin is not profit. It goes to getting the piece to your door: shipping, returns, the warehouse. Then to running No Label: the team, the stores, the fit sessions, the photography. What is left goes into next season's fabric. On sale pieces there is often nothing left at all, because overstock is money sitting in a warehouse and we would rather it moved than marked up.
